But don't let its size and lightness fool you. This is one robust

Looking to get in shape? But don't have the time or money available to invest in a gym membership?

If you are, then there are many pieces of equipment now available that you can use in the comfort of your own home or garden if you wish.

One particular piece of equipment that is allowing you to train where you wish is the TRX Suspension Trainer.

I've had the TRX for about a year now and I must say it is worth every penny. So I decided to review it here for you in this TRX Suspension Trainer review.

The TRX Trainer is a very simple piece of exercise equipment that allows you to carry out the most challenging and complex workouts and exercises that your body can handle. It comprises of two extremely heavy-duty nylon strips to which handles and straps are attached. These measure between 6 and 7 feet long.

The actual strips that make up this piece of equipment are adjustable and you will find that you are able to grip the handles well as they are made from soft foam. Having a good grip on them is important as it will help you to then support the weight of your body.

The best feature of the TRX Suspension Trainer is that it allows you to perform all kinds of body weight exercises (over 300 in fact) with it for all of your body, anywhere you want. And as it is suspended and uses your body weight - it forces you to work your core a lot more intensely than if you were using the machines at your gym for example.

The company that created the TRX Suspension Trainer, Fitness Anywhere, have made it very compact and light (only 2.2lbs), so it can be packed into a bag quite easily, allowing you to take it with you anywhere. So you could in fact carry it with you when you travel.

This is a great feature if you travel a lot on business, or if you like to move often - so then you can take it with without much hassle. All you need is a suspension point. This can either be a door, or any overhead, well secured, anchor point.

Unlike other fitness equipment on the market today when it comes to this one it has been designed by a member of the Navy SEALS. He designed it because he was fed up with not having equipment available or the space to perform the kinds of exercises that allow you to work the whole body at the same time when away or on duty.

But don't let its size and lightness fool you. This is one robust (read safe) product. Nothing on the TRX is flimsy or cheap looking.

However, the TRX Suspension Trainer is not for everyone.

I've had a lot of experience with different exercise equipment. And I just have to warn you - trust me I've seen first hand how inappropriately researched equipment gets shoved to the back of the storage room never to see the light of day again...

If you love going to the gym. Where you use the same machines every time, spending half your time chatting to friends... And if you like to have someone else guide you through a workout in a controlled 'class' environment - than the TRX Suspension Trainer is probably not for you.

I love the variety it provides for me. I like the full-body workout I get in a fraction of the time it takes to do a step class. I'm not even going to mention how much more effective this type of training is...

So if you don't have the discipline to workout on your own - you're better off finding a gym that offers the TRX training in a group. Or just don't get the TRX - simple:o)

Oh, I almost forgot to mention: in today's market I almost expect a product to be 'not-everything-it-promises-on-the-tin'.

The biggest and the most pleasant surprise came when I received my TRX in the post... it was everything the guys at Fitness Anywhere promised. It's really no surprise that most of the reviews on their site are very positive.
